So on September 8th is it legal for me to possess and consume medical marijuana within the legalities and uses that Ohio says I can consume it.

It's a bit of a catch 22 at the moment since in order to become a lawful Ohio medical marijuana patient you must first get qualified to use it with a prescription from an Ohio MMJ-Approved Doctor.  And at this time there are no approved doctors by the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program as they are still in the works of setting up the commission now to set the doctor & patient guidelines and approvals in place and will then get the process rolling to formally approve and license doctors to write prescriptions for MMJ to ohio residents/patients.

Having said that, the bill becomes law and medical marijuana is legal September 8th, 2016 so technically you would be allowed to travel out of state to buy MMJ from a dispensary that accepts out of state MMJ cards - but you first must have the card and this goes back to the catch-22 of no one is able to obtain them at the moment.

But keep the faith, everything is going to take a bit of time to just go through the motions, but soon enough we will have medical marijuana available to Ohio patients!

Hello Roger, it's a bit of a sticky situation at the moment.  Not many doctors have come forward to be known they are recommending medical marijuana in Ohio yet.

Stay tuned to our website and as soon as we know of any doctors, we will update it on this website.
